π Outlook Add-In (classic): Attaching files (two methods)
This article explains the two methods you can use to attach files to your email via the Outlook Add-In and send them securely with FTAPI.
Attaching files to emails and sending them with FTAPI
To attach files to an email for sending with FTAPI, you have two different options available:
1. Use the paperclip icon or the drag and drop function as usual. There are two things to keep in mind here:
- With this option, you are bound by the size restrictions imposed by your Outlook (e.g., max. file size 20 MB)
- To send the email and the attachment securely, you must click on βSend with FTAPIβ, otherwise Outlook will not know whether FTAPI should be used or not.
2. Use the selection from the FTAPI Outlook Add-In βAttach filesβ.
- This option is primarily used when you want to bypass the size restrictions for attached files.
- With this option, all attached files are automatically encrypted and stored on the server before being sent.
