FTAPI Version 4.57.1
The November release introduces watermarks in file previews as a measure against data leakage in SecuRooms and an optional password for Level 1 deliveries in SecuMails.
New
SecuRooms
- Protection against data leakage with watermarks in file previews: An additional security setting is available for the Viewer without download access role: If enabled, a watermark is automatically displayed in the file preview – providing additional protection for confidential content when viewed. Learn more.
- SecuRooms feature a new design: SecuRooms now follow the design of SecuMails to provide you with a consistent user experience.
SecuMails
- Security Level 1 now with password protection: Security Level 1 can now optionally be secured with an additional password. If an administrator enables this feature for a user group, senders can set a password when creating a delivery that recipients need to retrieve it. The password is shared outside of FTAPI – for example, via phone or chat. Learn more.
- Improved user experience and optimized functions in the admin area for the FTAPI Trust Network:
- You now have the option to send deliveries to new or unlicensed users. However, for users to reply via the Trust Network, the recipients must have a license themselves.
- The admin interface now features a "Settings" tab where the default group assignment for new users created via the FTAPI Trust Network can be configured. New recipients of a delivery via the FTAPI Trust Network are created directly in the group configured by the admin. The "Employees" group is set as the default option, but admins can adjust this in the settings.
- Admins can only set up one connection per partner. If you now attempt to set up a connection with an existing partner again, you will receive a corresponding error message.
- Optimized error message for Level 3 & 4 deliveries with outdated/private browsers: To ensure smooth and secure use of our product, we always recommend using the latest version of your browser. Additionally, some browsers in private mode severely restrict file downloads. If you attempt to download a Level 3 or 4 delivery using an outdated or private browser, you will now receive a corresponding error message. You can read our troubleshooting article for Level 3 & 4 deliveries here.
Platform
Performance further optimized: The web interface is now even faster and more fluid.
- Switching between SecuRooms and SecuMails is now up to twice as fast.
- The SecuMails inbox loads up to three times faster.
- Automations work up to 20% more efficiently.
- Approval processes now run up to twice as fast.
Improved
SecuMails
- When entering recipients for a new delivery in the web interface, the email address is once again correctly adopted as usual for recipients from the address book.
- If you leave SecuMails while data is being downloaded, you will now receive a dialog box where you must confirm that you want to leave the page and cancel the download.
SecuRooms
- When you select details via the three-dot button in a SecuRoom, the side panel now opens in the Details tab so you can view them immediately.
- Renaming a deleted file is no longer possible.
Administration
- The login disclaimer is now correctly displayed for SAML users again.
- When users reset their password, the reset link can only be used once. If a user clicks on it again, they will be directed to a page informing them that the link has expired.
- When saving settings, the notification that the server must be restarted no longer appears – this was a display error, and the server did not need to be restarted.
FTAPI cloud customers do not need to take any further action; the update was performed automatically. You can find detailed information about the maintenance window at status.ftapi.com.
