❓MySQL: Upgrade from 8.0 to 8.4

This article provides information about the end of support for MySQL 8.0 and the necessary transition to the compatible version 8.4.

MySQL 8.0 EOL

MySQL 8.0 will reach its End of Life (EOL) in April 2026. After this date, Oracle will no longer provide security updates or bug fixes. This means that newly discovered vulnerabilities will no longer be patched.

Important security notice: Operating EOL software poses significant risks and may jeopardize compliance with regulations or audits.

Upgrade to MySQL 8.4 – what you need to know

We strongly recommend that you upgrade to MySQL 8.4 (supported until 2032) in a timely manner, as it is compatible with FTAPI.

The MySQL upgrade is performed independently of the FTAPI software. Please use the official guide from Oracle at the following path to perform the upgrade:
