❓ SecuRooms: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on usage
Which browsers are supported?
Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Safari
Handling of file duplicates?
Analogous to Windows and other operating systems, only unique file names are allowed within a folder or data room (on the same level). This means there cannot be two files with the same file name; case sensitivity is not taken into account, similar to Windows (e.g., a.doc and A.doc are considered the same file).
If a user uploads a file to a folder/data room and a file with the same name already exists in that folder/data room, the file name of the new file is automatically appended with the suffix _1 (e.g., instead of “File” → “File_1”). An optional file overwrite feature is planned for the future.
What file sizes can SecuRooms “handle” (upload/download)?
Files up to 100 GB can be uploaded and downloaded without any issues, both with and without end-to-end encryption.
Which languages are supported in SecuRooms?
As with the entire FTAPI platform: German, English, and French. The language is automatically adjusted to the browser language. Manual switching is currently not possible.
Which file types are supported in the preview function?
doc, docx, fdf, jpg, jpeg, pdf, png, ppt, pptx, xls, xlsx
How do SecuRooms affect the user or system quota?
If a user uploads a file to a data room, the file is counted against the user's quota.
If the user is deleted, the data volume counts towards the system quota and is not transferred to another user.
Can files be stored in SecuRooms via interfaces, e.g., via a file transfer?
Yes, this is possible via FTAPI SecuFlows. For more information, please contact your account manager.
