Planned: FTAPI Version 4.69.0

Scheduled for 15.10.2026.

ℹ️ This version has not been released yet.

What's next? Take a look at the planned version 4.69.0. Please note that the final scope may still change before release – content can be added or removed.

New

SecuRooms

  • Share data rooms and folders publicly: Authorized data room Owners create a public link for a data room or a folder. Anyone who opens the link can view the shared files and download them, without signing in, registering or being invited. Operating manuals, product data sheets or press material reach everyone who needs them, including via a website. Scope of functions:
    • You decide who may create public links: Administrators grant the new permission "Can create and delete public links" per user group in the administration, together with the other SecuRooms permissions. Enabling it automatically also selects "Can share existing data rooms with others". Users without the permission do not see the link features.
    • One link for the entire content: In the "Share" dialog of a data room or folder, the Owner enables sharing on the "Public link" tab and confirms with "Done". The link covers the entire content including all subfolders and stays valid until it is deleted. Public links are only available for data rooms without end-to-end encryption.
    • See at a glance what is public: Publicly shared data rooms and folders show a link icon and the label "Public", in all subfolders as well. In the "Manage access" dialog, the public link is always listed first, ahead of group and individual access.
    • Manage all links in one place: Under "Public links" in the SecuRooms sidebar, below "Create data room", Owners and Editors see all public links of their data rooms with target and creation date, including those created by other Owners. A click on the link icon copies the link. A link is deleted only after confirmation, and then permanently: anyone holding the old address loses access immediately, and a newly created link gets a new address.
    • Recipients see only what you share: The recipient page shows nothing but the shared content with name, size and upload date, no members and no Owners of the data room. Recipients move between folders, preview files in the browser and download them. If you have enabled a download disclaimer, for example for SecuMails, recipients confirm it here too before accessing the content, on every new visit.
    • Performance regulation: Concurrent downloads via public links are limited, by default to ten per server instance. Signed-in users in SecuRooms and SecuMails as well as downloads via SecuRooms Drive, the Process Client and the Outlook add-in are not affected.

Platform

  • FTAPI in Polish and Spanish: Polish and Spanish are now available as platform languages in the web interface. For the new and the classic Outlook add-in, this follows separately with the next release. Employees and recipients in Poland and in Spanish-speaking countries work in their own language.

Improved

SecuRooms

  • Deeply nested folders stay reachable in the sidebar: The folder tree in the sidebar now shows up to 20 levels instead of 5, and every level can be expanded and collapsed as usual. Together with the adjustable sidebar width, you keep track of deep structures without switching to the content area.
  • More storage space as orphaned file data is fully removed: When a file with several versions is deleted, whether through the deletion period, manually or when emptying the trash bin, FTAPI now removes all versions together. With the update, leftovers of previously deleted files are also permanently removed from storage. They were no longer visible to users but still occupied space. Used storage goes down as a result, considerably for some customers. The clean-up runs automatically in the background after the update, so the effect may become visible with some delay. Everything visible in the data room or in the trash bin stays untouched, including all file versions.

SecuMails

  • E-mail addresses with umlauts are recognized as valid: Recipient addresses containing umlauts, such as "müller@example.com", are now accepted when sending a delivery and in SecuForms instead of being marked as invalid.

FTAPI Trust Network

  • Connected organizations stay listed, even with no deliveries left: If a recipient deletes all deliveries received from a partner organization, that organization remains in the overview of connected organizations. The overview reliably shows who your instance is connected to, regardless of how long deliveries are retained.

Platform

  • Brute-force warnings to administrators only when you switch them on: Warning e-mails to administrators about brute-force login attempts are now switched off by default. Account locking, CAPTCHA and notifications to the affected users remain unchanged. To keep receiving the warnings, switch on the new setting "Brute Force Notification Mails to Administrators" in the brute-force protection configuration. The e-mails then go to the configured notification recipients or, if none are configured, to the root administrator.
  • Users prevent the deletion of their account with a single sign-in: If your instance runs a user clean-up based on the last sign-in, the advance notice to affected users now states that signing in again prevents deactivation or deletion. Anyone who still needs their account sees right away what to do.
  • Collapsed navigation with icons for every area: When the navigation in SecuMails or SecuRooms is collapsed, it now shows icons for the individual areas. You switch directly to the area you need, even in a narrow view.

Deployment notes

FTAPI Cloud customers do not need to take any action, the update is applied automatically. At status.ftapi.com customers receive detailed information about the maintenance window.
