π Activate FTAPI Trust Networks: Verify your domain via DNS
What is domain verification used for?
Once youβve verified your email domain, messages sent to your employees will go directly to their own FTAPI inboxesβwithout the need for a guest account.
The same applies in reverse: If another FTAPI organization verifies its email domain, your messages sent to that organization will also be delivered directly to their FTAPI account. In this case, too, no guest account is createdβregardless of whether you have verified your own domain.
Requirements
To activate FTAPI Trust Networks, you need administrator access to the FTAPI Admin Panel and access to your domain's DNS management, or coordination with your IT department.
Step 1: Claim your domain
Open the Admin Panel and go to Configuration > My Domains. Select Add domain and enter your organization's email domain, for example your-organization.com. Confirm the entry. The domain is initially shown as not verified.
Step 2: Verify the domain via a DNS record
FTAPI displays a TXT record for verification in the domain view. Add this record in your domain's DNS management and save it. Propagation across the DNS can take some time depending on your provider.
Then click DNS record set β Check in FTAPI. Once the check succeeds, the domain is marked as verified.
Step 3: Participation is active
Once verification succeeds: from this point on, if users in your organization receive a delivery from another FTAPI instance, it arrives directly in their FTAPI inbox, without a guest account and without exchanging API keys. This applies regardless of whether the sending organization is itself verified.
You can see which connections are active in the Admin Panel (see article View active FTN connections in the Admin Panel).
Managing "My Domains"
Under Configuration > My Domains, you can see all claimed domains and their status. Here you can add further domains or remove existing ones.
Notes
Your organization is part of FTAPI Trust Networks regardless of verification. As long as your domain is not verified, your users continue to receive incoming deliveries from other organizations via a guest account, as before. End-to-end encryption remains fully intact for all FTN deliveries.
